There are many people who think the thought “that will never happen to me.” I am sure if we ask those who it has happened to they will say that they thought the same thing. The world is experiencing more and more natural disasters, leaving many homeless, without food and without hope. On July 15th, 2014, the city of Rexburg and Madison County located here in Idaho suffered from a severe thunderstorm and flood. No one knew, or even though that it was going to happen, but it did, and it hit hard. Not only did many families suffer from this event, but the students of Brigham Young University-Idaho did as well. Many houses were damaged, cars, material goods and even the BYU-Idaho campus. In this moment, the thought “that will never happen to me” was voided and it did happen. Do you have shelter prepared if a disaster happens? Food? Other necessary materials? Are you prepared?
